Trace

Place a piece of paper on a hard floor. Stand on it with your full weight, since your foot spreads slightly when bearing weight.

Mark

Mark the back of your heel and the tip of your longest toe. This may be your second toe rather than your big toe - use whichever extends furthest.

Measure

Measure the distance between the two marks in centimeters. This is your foot length - compare it to the Japan (cm) sizing for the most accurate match.

Both feet

Measure both feet, ideally at the end of the day when they're largest, and use the longer of the two measurements.
